Okay,
So far, as I start to see how things work, I am starting to really like MT. Except for one thing. Seems some of the functions in the editing panel are IE specific. Shame, Shame, SHAME on them. The most annoying one I have found to date is when you are trying to rebuild a page or a template. Often, over in Mozilla [or from what I hear on the boards, Opera as well] the "rebuild" or cancel buttons are below the bottom of the popup window. Which is not resizeable BTW. You are stuck, can't use the function without backing out of your browser of choice and heading over to messIE.
Now can it really be that difficult to either enlarge the window, or make it resizeable....or better yet. Drop the pop and put those buttons on the actual control page? Can't be THAT difficult to do.
I've heard some other beefs about buttons for underline, italics, bold, etc not working, but that's not much of an issue to me. Especially when I hear that they generate old, deprecated tags like < bold > and < i > instead of the accepted < strong > and < em >.
That's my little snit and rant for the evening. Ahhhh, grumbliing feels good sometimes. [smile]
Farron & That _^..^_
Posted by farron at August 7, 2003 09:54 PMHi Farron,
very good point ... although I can't say as I have had (or noticed) that problem in Opera (my default browser). At least I don't recall having it with MT - but I have definitely come across that problem before on other sites; i.e. the bottom of a page (usually popup) is cut off.
If the window itself cannot be maximized, then what I usually try (and it usually works) is use the ARROW DOWN key, and that will scroll down the page (acting as the missing scrollbar). Whether that works in Moz I don't know yet.
Hey Britta,
Thanks for the thought. I will try it in Opera. [I flip flop between the two for primary..lol] Doesn't seem to work in Mozilla 1.3.1 over here though. I just tested and nothing, zip, nada. Still an unusable popup. :-(

Posted by: Farron at August 7, 2003 10:13 PMUh huh.. not in Opera. I do all my MT work from Opera.
Yep, I recall a window pop with the buttons out of view, and when you drag it up it's still longer than the display and won't drag above your toolbars..
BUT F11 toggles Full Screen, just like it does in IE, and even tho you don't see a scroll bar it still works. Most of the time those windows have the resize buttons available in Opera 7.
The Rebuild window is not one of them by the way.
The F11 and using the hidden scrollbar works in NN 7, so I assume it will work in Mozilla too. :-)
Just being helpful. grin.

I haven't seen them either. But I have a link to a "fix" whereby you can define your OWN buttons to insert what you like. I'll dig it out later and post it on my blog. It's probably already there in draft mode. I'm lazy. grin
